Philip Giraldi : Christian Zionism’s political significance in United States

Philip Giraldi February 7, 2013 3

Philip Giraldi speaking at the National Press Club, in Washington, DC, on  January 30, 2013, focuses on Christian Zionism's end-time theology interworking with Israeli politics and their influence in American domestic and International politics. A subject he observes not much discussed in Washington, that needs to be talked about more.

Philip Giraldi is director at the Council for the National Interest.  He is a recognized authority on international security and counterterrorism issues. He is a former CIA counter-terrorism specialist and military intelligence officer who served eighteen years overseas in Turkey, Italy, Germany, and Spain. He was Chief of Base in Barcelona from 1989 to 1992 designated as the Agency’s senior officer for Olympic Games support.

He emphasized the political significance of Christian Zionists in the United States, their involvement in and growing influence over American domestic politics and some aspects of American foreign policy, through major movements such as CUFI, two million strong (Christians United For Israel) members, headed by pastor John Hagee, a potent political force.

He explains how their mechanism actually works by pointing to an example as recent as last Monday, when 200 CUFI (Christians United for Israel) leaders were flown to Washington, all expenses paid, to lobby their senators against the confirmation of Chuck Hagel as US Secretary of Defense ( @4 from each State so they could lobby every senator). He added, Hagel has been criticized by the evangelicals as being less than completely supportive of Israel and hesitant to go to war against Iran for Israel.

The bottom line, Giraldi stresses: Christian Zionism's involvement in American politics on behalf of the U.S. relations with Israel, does not serve any conceivable national interests, unless one assumes Israel and the U.S. are essentially the same, which is unsustainable. On the contrary, he observes, it serves a particularly narrowly construed parochial interest, that ironically is intended to bring about the end of the world, possibly a victory for pastor John Hagee, if his interpretation of the bible is correct, but quite likely a disaster for the rest of us.

Phil Giraldi, is joined on the panel by Jon Basil Utley, Norton Mezvinsky, and Fuad Shaban. For more information, see: http://www.veteransnewsnow.com/2013/01/29/christian-zionism-and-american-islamophobia-giraldi-utley-jan-30-in-dc/

Well, even knowing of the problem of the Christian Zionist  in the US, their beliefs, the support they give to an murderous regime occupying another country, now insitu for 66 years, the viewing of this video was something of a revelation.

The CUFI and their engineering of the visit by their leaders from every state to lobby AGAINST Chuck Hagel should be a clear indication that their Christian beliefs are like the total US, certanlt Congress members and Senators, subservient to the objectives of israel. The support they have given and still give to the Jews from all parts of Europe, has only just tapped the marketplace for killers, conveniently called settlers. An ever-ready supply of frontline troops (killers) against women and children in Palestine

Now that is real Christianity. They will support murder, apartheid, ethnic cleansing, year after year, to gain some form of mythological salvation, the very rational idea of which, to any educated person, is fantasy. Obviously a fantasy that people like Hagee and the CUFI use in their manipulationof the masses, the sheep happy to go along. It is interesting to see where this CZ (Christian Zionist) following is the strongest. That is in itself, worthy of note. Suffice to say, the people in these states are exploitable and have been for fifty years. If it wasn't one thing, that is before the rise of Zionism, it was something else. There have always been people like Hagee, self-styled Moses of the masses. It is laughable..   One therefore cannot discriminate between Zionists, Jews, Christian Zionists Neocons, fellow-travellers and sycophants. Until they are purged, such devious activities such as the attacks on decent people like Hagel, will continue.   They are all trying in their own way to bring the US down, one as bad as the next.

It is indeed disturbing to know that in many parts of America, the self-styled 'bastion of democracy', whatever that means, there are millions of so-called Christian zealots who have a badly twisted attitude to truth and justice.   For something they expect to happen in the future, as  the previous comment states, something of a fantasy,  they will tolerate, no, totally support a murderous regime in Israel, blackmail Senators and Congress people, bribe and corrupt people to achieve their ends.   Although it is difficult to remember old time religion from thirty years ago, I am sure that there was nothing in the so-called teachings of someone from 2013 years ago that accepted those actions as acceptable….in any way.   It does show those who have followed the activities of the CUFI over time, that the influence of the  Zionists has exploited the obvious naivety of these followers of Hagee and his ilk to the detriment of international peace and goodwill.   Murder, mayhem and inhumanity, you are Christian  Zionism

Nonesense. "christian zionism" is an oxymoron. Those who call themselves "christian" and support the Zionist cabal are heretically different sects of Judiasm. They are liars, like their masters. There is nothing "Christian" about them.
